Timber is a sustainable, durable, versatile and beautiful building material.
Trees act as a carbon sink trapping atmospheric carbon dioxide and producing oxygen as a by-product of photosynthesis. Timber requires low amounts of energy for processing compared to materials such as steel and concrete. It is recyclable and biodegradable once it reaches the end of it’s service life. Timber structures are well suited to accommodate the insulating materials required to fulfil the modern specification for greater thermal efficiency in buildings. We endorse the use of locally grown timber and encourage our clients to choose timber products sourced from sustainably managed woodland.
